Gaming Application

The most widely used and developed application for virtual reality is within the gaming world. There are many available virtual reality headsets that one can purchase such as the Oculus Rift, made by the company Oculus, or the HTC Vive.

A person can experience being in the game in a 3D environment and can personally interact with the people and atmosphere of the game.

Bio-sensing is a technique used to interpret a user’s physical movements and translate them into game play. This is done through the use of sensors in the helmet, gloves, bodysuit, etc.

The player experiences a completely immersive virtual world. Developers have gone as far as trying to incorporate real smells on top of the sounds and visual aspects already present into game play to add to the experience.

Some examples of popular games include Second Life, The Climb, Chronos, Hover Junkies and Resident Evil: 7.
